Diary 10th Armored Infantry Battalion

27 MARCH 1945 (TUESDAY)

At first call at 07:00 hours the battalion was still in CCB and still in a holding position. The battalion CP is set up in the town of Ostheim, Germany. The 26th Infantry Division began taking over our positions at 09:00 hours.

Task Force Baum is still progressing according to plan. There were no reports of enemy activity by 12:00 hours. Companies "B" and "C" and Headquarters Company have been relieved by the 26th Infantry Division.

At 17:00 hours the Battalion was taken out of CCB and placed under the control of CCR and we moved to Babenhausen, Germany at 18:00 hours. The march was made without mishap and all around security was posted in our new position. The battalion CP has been set up in Babenhausen.

An overlay was received from CCR and 23:00 hours with attack orders. CCR is to follow CCB by 24:00 hours. The night had passed quietly and all units are maintaining strong security.

"K", "C", 10 in 1 rations, fresh bread and water were issued to all units. Clean socks, gas and ammunition were also issued.

The weather today was sunny and warm. The morale of the troops is excellent.
